Hero Future Energies (HFE) has entered into an agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government to develop renewable energy projects totaling 4 GW across Ananthapuramu, Kurnool, and Kadapa districts. The investment for these projects is estimated at INR 30,000 crore, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh's status as a major renewable energy hub in India.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by HFE Global CEO Srivatsan Iyer in Visakhapatnam, in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, during the AP Government - CII Partnership Summit. The projects are planned in two phases and are expected to generate over 15,000 direct and indirect jobs.

HFE will invest an additional INR 15,000 crore in renewable energy projects within the state, bringing the total proposed investment to INR 30,000 crore, according to Chairman and Managing Director Rahul Munjal. Srivatsan Iyer noted that the MoU would contribute 4 GW of green energy capacity while fostering sustainable industrial growth, creating long-term employment opportunities, and attracting ancillary industries. The agreement will remain valid for 12 months from the signing date.

Currently, HFE manages a global portfolio of 7.2 GWp of renewable energy assets and 2.3 GWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity, spanning India, Ukraine, Vietnam, and the UK, including both operational and under-development projects.
