The Adani Group recently announced that it is setting up a 48-megawatt green data centre in Telangana, designed to support advanced AI, cloud computing and high-performance processing requirements. Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd, spoke at the inaugural session of the Telangana Rising Global Summit, where he stated that the project involves an investment of INR 2,500 crore and is expected to be a key pillar of India's rapidly expanding digital infrastructure.
He observed that Telangana has recorded significant progress in capital infrastructure and logistics in recent years, and mentioned that the Adani Group has contributed to this transformation through its ongoing development of roads and logistics facilities. These initiatives, he said, have strengthened the state's position as a major logistics gateway.
Karan Adani added that the group has invested nearly INR 10,000 crore in Telangana over the past three years across infrastructure and manufacturing assets. These projects, he said, have supported employment generation for more than 7,000 individuals.
He also referred to the group's expanding role in the defence manufacturing sector, noting that under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, the conglomerate has created a defence and aerospace park in Hyderabad that produces UAVs for the Indian armed forces as well as international markets. This facility alone employs over 1,500 young professionals.
In addition, the group has invested INR 4,000 crore in developing more than 100 kilometres of highways that connect important districts including Mancherial, Suryapet, Kodad and Khammam, enhancing regional mobility and infrastructure quality.
The Adani Group's expanding footprint in Telangana highlights its long-term commitment to strengthening the state's infrastructure, digital backbone and manufacturing capacity. The upcoming AI-focused green data centre positions Telangana at the forefront of next-generation technology development, while continued investments in highways, logistics, defence production and employment reflect a multi-sectoral growth approach.
