Tata Power-DDL marks IDPWD with assistive device distribution for persons with disabilities

Synopsis

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) marked the International Day for Persons with Disabilities by hosting an Aids & Appliances Distribution Ceremony on 2 December 2025 at its Hudson Lane headquarters. Organised with Viklang Sahara Samiti Delhi, the event supported the IDPWD theme of fostering disability-inclusive societies by providing motorised and manual tricycles, walkers, crutches, hearing aids, white canes and wheelchairs. These aids aim to enhance mobility, independence and daily comfort for beneficiaries. Senior leadership, including CEO Dwijadas Basak, attended the ceremony. Basak noted that true inclusion begins with empowering individuals through tools that support equal participation in society.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), the North Delhi utility serving nearly nine million residents, reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity by hosting an Aids & Appliances Distribution Ceremony on 2 December 2025 at its Corporate Office in Hudson Lane. The event was organised in collaboration with Viklang Sahara Samiti Delhi to mark the International Day for Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD).


Aligned with the 2025 IDPWD theme, 'Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress,' the initiative focused on supporting beneficiaries through essential mobility and assistive devices. These included motorised and manual tricycles, walkers, hearing aids, crutches, white canes, and wheelchairs ' all aimed at improving accessibility, independence, and overall quality of life for persons with disabilities.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of key leadership, including Mr Dwijadas Basak (CEO, Tata Power-DDL), Mr Sunil Sharma (CEO, TP Ajmer Distribution Ltd.), and senior functional heads from Human Resources, Commercial, Power Management, Operations, and the Social Impact Group.

Acknowledging the importance of such initiatives, Mr Basak observed that true inclusion begins when individuals are empowered with tools that enable independent mobility and greater participation in society.
