The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the transfer of 480 acres in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts to Adani Infra (India) for building a 1 GW AI data centre campus under Google backed Raiden Infotech. The project involves an investment of around INR 87,500 crore and state incentives of roughly INR 22,000 crore. Only Adani Infra has been granted the land, despite multiple notified partners being associated. The facility is planned to meet global data-centre standards and is set to draw very substantial power when operational.
The government of Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd has been allotted 480 acres of land across Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts by the state government of Andhra Pradesh to build a 1?gigawatt data?centre campus under Raiden Infotech India Pvt Ltd associated with Google.
Raiden had earlier identified several companies including Adani Infra (India), AdaniConneX India Pvt Ltd, Adani Power India Pvt Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Nxtra Data Ltd and Nxtra Vizag Ltd as 'notified partners.' However, the government has approved the land transfer only to Adani Infra (India), following Raiden's request that the identified parcels be handed over to the primary partner after survey and handover formalities.
The formal order issued on December?2 granted this transfer after a careful review and cabinet approval. Under the plan, Raiden intends a phased rollout of data?centre infrastructure amounting to a total investment of INR?87,500?crore (approximately USD?9.74?billion). The state government has agreed to incentives valued at around INR?22,000?crore to support the project over time.
The project aims to build a data?centre campus that meets the same global standards that back Google services such as Search, YouTube and Workspace. The 1?GW facility corresponding to about 1,000?MW power capacity is expected to draw substantial electricity, reportedly comparable to roughly half of the annual power consumption of a major metropolis.
This move reflects the state's broader policy push to attract large?scale digital infrastructure. Previous government communications indicated that the land parcels span multiple villages under the jurisdiction of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC), earmarking portions in Tarluvada (Visakhapatnam district), Adavivaram and Mudasarlova (Visakhapatnam), and Rambilli (Anakapalli) though final survey and possession transfer remain prerequisites.
