Finnish telecom major Nokia has partnered with Bharti Airtel to give third-party developers access to Airtel's network capabilities, enabling them to build new technology solutions and unlock fresh monetization opportunities. After successful trials, Airtel's network APIs will now be offered on a subscription basis through Nokia's Network as Codeplatform, opening them to developers, system integrators and enterprises across sectors.

'We are happy to partner with Nokia for network APIs and enable the ecosystem to leverage our network capabilities for automation and building secure and innovative digital services,' said Sharat Sinha, CEO of Airtel Business. The partnership will allow developers to create advanced solutions powered by Airtel's nationwide network and technologies such as AI, 5G, and edge computing.

According to Nokia, the collaboration will support new use cases across multiple industries by giving developers direct access to Airtel's extensive network assets. Network APIs allow operators to virtualize portions of their networks and offer tailored data and capabilities to application builders.

Arvind Khurana, Head of Cloud and Network Services for Nokia India, said the partnership expands the reach of Nokia's Network as Code ecosystem and strengthens its commitment to helping telecom operators generate new revenue streams while encouraging innovation.
