Apollo Pharmacy is accelerating its growth strategy by planning to open two new stores every day, aiming to expand its customer base to 10 crore within the next five years, according to CEO P Jayakumar. The pharmacy chain, which recently crossed the 7,000-store mark with the inauguration of its latest outlet in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is focusing on strengthening its presence in neighbourhoods across India.
Jayakumar highlighted that the expansion is designed to ensure high-quality medicines remain easily accessible to everyone. Apollo HealthCo, which operates Apollo Pharmacy, currently serves users across more than 19,000 pin codes in the country.
Apollo HealthCo's Executive Chairperson, Shobana Kamineni, noted that the pharmacy fulfills over one million orders daily, emphasizing the scale and trust Apollo has achieved among Indian families. She added that the milestone of 7,000 stores reflects the company's commitment to broadening access and reinforcing its position as a reliable healthcare choice in India's neighbourhood pharmacy network.
The company also reported that its paid healthcare loyalty programme, Apollo Circle, has exceeded 10 million members, highlighting growing customer engagement and loyalty.
