Vikram Solar has commissioned its 5 GW Vallam facility in Tamil Nadu, expanding its total solar module manufacturing capacity to 9.5 GW. The plant features advanced automation and TOPCon technology, supporting multiple module formats and enabling high-precision, reliable, and efficient production. Vallam strengthens the company's presence in India's clean energy sector alongside its Oragadam and upcoming Gangaikondan facilities. The modules will supply utility, commercial, and distributed generation projects, while efforts toward workforce gender diversity reflect Vikram Solar's commitment to inclusive growth and technology-driven innovation.

Vikram Solar has recently commissioned its advanced Vallam manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, adding 5 GW of solar module production capacity and bringing its total capacity to 9.5 GW. The expansion reinforces the company's position as a major player in India's solar sector and highlights its growing influence in the country's clean energy landscape.

The Vallam plant, designed as a large-scale, future-ready manufacturing hub, integrates next-generation automation systems, including intelligent robotics, advanced material handling, comprehensive quality checks, and fully automated packaging. This high level of automation improves precision, accelerates production, ensures consistent quality, and strengthens reliability, setting a new operational benchmark in the solar module sector.

Spanning 27,000 sq. m, the facility employs advanced TOPCon technology, with provisions for seamless HJT upgrades, and is capable of producing modules in M10, G12, and G12R formats. For customers, the plant delivers reliable, high-performance modules with lower failure rates, better energy yields, and predictable supply timelines. Each module meets Tier-1 and international quality standards.

The commissioning of Vallam adds to Vikram Solar's existing manufacturing presence in Oragadam and aligns with the foundation of its upcoming Gangaikondan facility. Together, these sites underline the company's long-term strategy to anchor advanced solar manufacturing and innovation in Tamil Nadu, one of India's fastest-growing renewable energy hubs.

Vikram Solar's Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary, described Vallam as a defining milestone, noting that delivering this 5 GW facility within the year reflects the company's readiness for rapid growth, innovation, and scale in the next decade. He emphasized that the facility strengthens India's solar value chain and demonstrates that Indian clean technology can lead on a global scale.

Modules from Vallam will supply utility-scale, commercial, industrial, and distributed generation projects across India, supporting the country's push toward ambitious renewable energy targets. In line with its focus on inclusive growth, Vikram Solar aims to achieve 40-50% gender diversity within the plant's workforce, promoting a modern and equitable manufacturing environment.

Vikram Solar Limited, headquartered in Kolkata, is a leading Indian PV module manufacturer with a presence in 39 countries. The company has earned recognition as a 'Top Performer' in PVEL's 2025 PV Module Reliability scorecard and is included in Bloomberg NEF's Tier 1 solar PV module manufacturer list. With an extensive pan-India distribution network of over 100 authorized distributors, more than 375 dealers, and 75 system integrators, Vikram Solar continues to play a pivotal role in India's renewable energy growth.
