Synopsis

Bisleri International has entered a long-term renewable Power Purchase Agreement with Sunsure Energy to shift a major share of its Sahibabad facility's electricity consumption to solar energy. The partnership is expected to help the company meet 48% of its power requirement through renewable sources and reduce around 2,700 tons of CO? emissions every year. Sunsure will supply clean energy from its 82.5 MWp solar plant in Erach, Uttar Pradesh. The development also reflects Sunsure's growing presence in the state, where it recently commissioned its 10th solar plant and expanded its open-access capacity to over 260 MWp.

Bisleri International has formalised a long-term renewable energy agreement with Sunsure Energy to increase the use of clean power at its manufacturing facility in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. The agreement, signed earlier this week, will allow Bisleri to source 48% of its total electricity requirement from renewable energy. The shift is expected to cut nearly 2,700 tons of CO? emissions each year.

Under the arrangement, Sunsure Energy will supply solar power from its 82.5 MWp plant located in Erach, Uttar Pradesh. This supply is planned to support the facility with consistent renewable power for the long term.

Sunsure Energy's Founder and CEO, Shashank Sharma, conveyed that welcoming Bisleri strengthens the company's position among FMCG players adopting renewable power in Uttar Pradesh and across the country. He also noted that the partnership marks another step in Sunsure's ongoing 'UP Shakti' initiative aimed at expanding green energy infrastructure in the state.

Bisleri International's CEO, Angelo George, stated that the collaboration aligns with the company's environmental commitments under its Bisleri Greener Promise. He explained that using solar power for nearly half of the plant's operations will help reduce emissions while ensuring dependable and cost-efficient energy availability.

Sunsure Energy has been expanding its footprint in Uttar Pradesh, commissioning its tenth solar project in the state earlier this month. This has pushed its operational open-access capacity in the region to more than 260 MWp, supplying industries in FMCG, data centres, ceramics, and metals. The company, founded in 2014, currently operates 600 MW of assets and has projects of 7.10 GW under development across multiple states. It is backed by Partners Group AG, which has committed USD 400 million towards its growth, with a target of achieving 10 GW capacity by 2030.

Bisleri International, with a business history of more than five decades, runs 128 operational plants and a distribution network covering over 6,000 distributors and 7,500 trucks across India and the UAE. The company continues to focus on water quality, product diversification, and sustainability goals under its Sustainability 2.0 initiative, which includes recycling and water conservation efforts.
