Synopsis

FedEx has entered into a preliminary understanding with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya to explore joint efforts in logistics education, training and practical exposure for students. The plan focuses on developing learning modules, case studies, workshops and interaction with industry experts. The discussions aim to help students understand current logistics trends, operational challenges and the growing role of technology in supply chain management. Leaders from both organisations highlighted that the initiative is expected to improve practical skills and support digital integration in the logistics sector.

FedEx recently signed a Letter of Intent with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya to examine possible collaboration in logistics-focused education, skills training and hands-on industry engagement for students. This development adds to the broader push across India's logistics sector to strengthen talent pipelines through structured academic-industry partnerships.

The LoI includes plans to co-create learning material, introduce real operational case studies, conduct workshops and offer students direct exposure to logistics processes. According to the company, these discussions are aimed at enabling students to understand current industry trends, challenges and ongoing technological shifts affecting logistics operations.

Suvendu Choudhury, Vice President for India operations and planning and engineering at FedEx for the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa, stated that the initiative is meant to connect formal education with industry requirements so students can develop skills suited for present-day logistics roles.

Manoj Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, said the proposed partnership is expected to support progress in logistics and supply chain management, especially through digitalisation and the use of advanced technologies. The university has been expanding its focus on transport and logistics education in recent years, aligning with the government's emphasis on integrated infrastructure and logistics reform.
