BC Jindal Group has formalised an agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to develop a 150 MW round-the-clock renewable energy project. The capacity was secured through a reverse auction at a tariff of INR 5.07/kWh. This project forms part of SECI's larger 1,200 MW RTC renewable energy programme, for which bidding had been opened last year. The initiative reflects the company's continued participation in India's renewable energy expansion. The PPA between the two parties now sets the stage for project execution under SECI's RTC mandate.
BC Jindal Group announced that it has entered into an agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to develop a 150 MW round-the-clock renewable energy project. The agreement was signed during the past week, marking a key advancement in SECI's ongoing programme to secure assured clean energy supply for the grid.
The allocation is part of SECI's 1,200 MW RTC renewable energy initiative, for which the tender had been released last year. Under this programme, developers are required to supply firm renewable power throughout the day by combining different renewable sources or integrating storage. Similar RTC tenders issued in recent years have been aimed at improving grid stability and ensuring dependable green power availability.
BC Jindal Group secured the 150 MW capacity through a competitive reverse auction, where it quoted a tariff of INR 5.07/kWh. According to the group, the tariff was accepted after the bidding process concluded, ensuring the company's entry into SECI's current RTC portfolio.
A Power Purchase Agreement has now been executed between the company and SECI, confirming long-term off-take arrangements for the project. This agreement provides the commercial framework required for project development and aligns with the central government's objective of increasing reliable renewable energy supply.
