Synopsis

Smartworks Coworking Spaces Ltd has leased more than 500 seats at its Pune centre to Davies Shared Services (India) Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of UK-based global professional services firm Davies. The company, which recently went public, manages around 12 million sq ft of workspace across 14 Indian cities and Singapore. Smartworks follows a model of leasing large bare-shell properties from landlords and subleasing them to medium and large enterprises. It also recently leased 5.57 lakh sq ft at Intellion Park, Navi Mumbai, marking its largest campus in the city.

Smartworks Coworking Spaces Ltd has provided over 500 seats on lease to Davies Shared Services (India) Pvt Ltd at its Pune centre. Davies Shared Services is the Indian arm of the UK-headquartered global professional services firm Davies.

Neetish Sarda, Founder and Managing Director of Smartworks, stated that the company's campuses are designed to help enterprises expand efficiently by offering a combination of scale, infrastructure, and integrated services within one setup. He added that Smartworks continues to create work environments that allow global organisations to operate seamlessly and grow with agility.

Arvind Parashar, Senior Vice President and India Country Manager at Davies, mentioned that this partnership marks a major step forward for the company, bringing its teams together under one collaborative workspace aimed at enhancing innovation and growth.

Smartworks operates on a leasing model where it takes large or entire bare-shell properties in prime business locations from landlords and converts them into fully managed office campuses. These are then subleased to mid-sized and large enterprises seeking flexible, ready-to-use workspaces.

The company has been expanding its presence across key business hubs in India. Last month, it took on lease about 5.57 lakh sq ft of office space at Intellion Park in Navi Mumbai, a development by Tata Realty and Infrastructure Ltd. This new centre will be Smartworks' largest managed office campus in the Mumbai region and is expected to cater to the rising demand for managed and flexible workspaces from corporates.

Smartworks recently made its stock market debut after raising nearly INR 600 crore through its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The company currently holds a market capitalisation of over INR 6,000 crore. With a portfolio spanning around 12 million sq ft across 14 cities in India and an additional presence in Singapore, Smartworks has positioned itself as one of the leading managed workspace providers in the region.
