Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, is scheduled to inaugurate the 84th Annual Session of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC) at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The event, spanning four days from November 7 to 10, is expected to draw approximately 3,500 delegates from across the country, including engineers, technical experts, and other industry stakeholders.

Odisha Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan confirmed Gadkari's participation, noting his consistent presence at IRC events in previous years. This edition marks the sixth time the state is hosting the prestigious conference, following earlier sessions in 1954, 1982, 1994, 2005, and 2015.

Alongside discussions and presentations, the conference will feature a technical exhibition displaying the latest advancements in road infrastructure, innovative solutions, and services related to construction, maintenance, and safety. Delegates will have the opportunity to explore new technologies, equipment, and research findings that can enhance road networks across India. Cultural programmes will be organised throughout the event to highlight regional traditions and provide a platform for informal interaction among participants.
