Synopsis

MIC Electronics, a Hyderabad-based electronics manufacturer, has received certification from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Ministry of Railways, for its indigenously developed microprocessor controller. Designed for roof-mounted AC units in LHB and double-decker coaches, the prototype cleared all RDSO tests and specifications. With this approval, MIC Electronics can now supply the controllers directly to Indian Railways. The product emphasizes energy efficiency, smart controls, and IoT-enabled operations, marking a key step in the modernization of railway infrastructure.

MIC Electronics, headquartered in Hyderabad, has recently obtained certification from the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), under the Ministry of Railways, for its indigenously developed microprocessor controller. This controller is specifically designed for roof-mounted air-conditioning package units used in LHB and double-decker railway coaches. The certification followed successful prototype testing, ensuring the product meets all RDSO specifications.

The company stated that the controller has been entirely designed and manufactured in India. It supports features such as energy efficiency, smart operational controls, and IoT-enabled monitoring. With the RDSO approval, MIC Electronics can now commence direct commercial supply of the controller to Indian Railways. This step is expected to enhance both the operational efficiency and safety of AC systems in railway coaches.

This approval strengthens MIC Electronics' portfolio of RDSO-certified products and contributes to the broader modernization efforts of Indian Railways. The company has been a supplier of LED displays, lighting, and electronic control systems to central and state government bodies, public sector undertakings, and sectors including railways and defense. Its focus on indigenous technology development and industrial electronics innovation aligns with India's push toward self-reliance in critical infrastructure components.
