Synopsis

Celcius Logistics has partnered with Switch Mobility, the electric vehicle division of Ashok Leyland, to introduce India's largest electric refrigerated vehicle (reefer) fleet under its new vertical, 'Celcius Green'. The initiative involves an investment of INR 100 crore and will deploy 350 electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs) for temperature-controlled last-mile deliveries. The fleet, already partially deployed, will operate across New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, serving sectors including dairy, pharmaceuticals, seafood, and frozen foods, with future expansion plans. Advanced EV technology ensures efficiency, transparency, and minimal transit losses.

Celcius Logistics has joined forces with Switch Mobility to launch India's largest electric refrigerated vehicle fleet, aiming to redefine cold-chain logistics in the country. Under the new vertical, 'Celcius Green', the company plans to deploy 350 electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs) for temperature-controlled transport. The project represents India's largest bulk order of eLCV-based refrigerated trucks and marks the first large-scale deployment in the country. Celcius Logistics has already deployed 100 trucks and plans to roll out the remaining 250 units by the end of the financial year.

The electric fleet will serve sectors such as dairy, pharmaceuticals, fruits and vegetables, seafood, and frozen foods, providing fully temperature-controlled last-mile delivery solutions. Initially, operations will start in New Delhi and later expand to Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The company aims to achieve an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of INR 50 crore in the first year, scaling up to INR 250 crore over five years.

Ganesh Mani, CEO of Switch Mobility, highlighted that the partnership combines sustainability with operational efficiency. The SWITCH IeV Series EV reefer offers consistent cooling performance, minimal transit loss, a smoother and quieter ride, and maintains product quality throughout transit.

To support the fleet, Celcius Logistics plans an additional investment of INR 100-150 crore to develop EV-ready cold-storage hubs and charging infrastructure along key logistics corridors. Each vehicle is equipped with GPS-based live tracking, smart humidity and temperature sensors, lane-specific charging stations, and predictive maintenance scheduling, ensuring zero downtime, operational transparency, and complete traceability. This initiative aligns with India's push for energy-efficient and sustainable cold-chain logistics.
