Rajasthan has allotted 65 acres in Kotputli-Behror to PMI Electro Mobility Solutions for the state's first electric bus manufacturing plant, with an initial investment of INR 1,200 crore. The facility will produce e-buses, bus bodies, motors, batteries, wire harnesses, and other components. The project, supported by RIICO and the state government, is expected to generate direct and indirect employment, strengthen local supply chains, and boost industrial development while advancing green energy and the Make in India initiative.
The Rajasthan government has approved the allocation of around 65 acres of land in the Ghiloth Industrial Area, Kotputli-Behror district, to PMI Electro Mobility Solutions for establishing the state's first electric bus manufacturing plant. The allotment was made through the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) and follows a memorandum of understanding signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit.
PMI Electro Mobility Solutions plans to invest about INR 1,200 crore in the initial phase. The plant will manufacture electric buses along with bus bodies, motors, batteries, wire harnesses, and other essential spare parts. This facility is expected to create both direct and indirect employment opportunities, particularly for local youth, while supporting the growth of the electric mobility ecosystem in the state.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, who met the PMI delegation recently, said the plant would significantly boost industrial development and contribute to employment generation. He emphasized that the project aligns with the Make in India initiative, reinforcing Rajasthan's position as a potential hub for electric vehicle manufacturing. Sharma also underlined the state government's commitment to promoting green energy and sustainable urban transport, noting that the new facility would help accelerate the electric mobility sector in Rajasthan.
The project is anticipated to strengthen local manufacturing capabilities and supply chains for electric vehicles. By focusing on sustainable production, the facility is likely to attract ancillary industries and investments to the region, providing long-term economic benefits while supporting environmental goals.
