The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has rolled out free Wi-Fi services at all stations on Metro Line 3, responding to commuter concerns over weak mobile connectivity in underground sections. The service allows passengers to access the MetroConnect3 app for digital ticket booking directly from the concourse level of each station. MMRC expects this initiative to reduce waiting time, improve convenience, and enhance the overall travel experience, while further promoting the use of digital services among commuters.

The step comes after feedback from passengers highlighted difficulties in using mobile networks in the underground sections of the corridor. The free Wi-Fi service is available at the concourse level of every station, where ticket counters and automated kiosks are located. Commuters are advised to download the MetroConnect3 app and log in before entering the stations. Once at the concourse, passengers can connect to the 'MetroConnect3' network from their device's Wi-Fi settings, ensuring smooth access to digital ticketing services.
MMRC has emphasized that this move is part of its ongoing efforts to improve passenger experience and modernize metro travel. By providing reliable internet connectivity, the initiative is designed to make the ticket booking process faster, reduce congestion at counters, and encourage commuters to adopt digital methods for their journeys.
