Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), India's largest hospitality company, has reached over 250 operational hotels in the country, providing 25,500 rooms. The company achieved this milestone after signing 46 properties and opening 26 hotels during the first half of the current fiscal year.

The expansion demonstrates IHCL's focused growth strategy, strengthening both domestic and international presence. Hotels under the Taj brand were recently signed in key locations including Darjeeling, ECR Chennai, Pondicherry, Mohali, and even Kruger National Park in South Africa. These new properties underline the company's efforts to cater to leisure, business, and international travelers alike.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate & Development at IHCL, said that the company is well positioned to achieve its target of 700 hotels by 2030 under its "Accelerate 2030" plan. She emphasized that signing new properties at this pace is helping the company maintain steady progress in expanding its portfolio.

Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President for Hotel Openings & New Businesses, added that IHCL opened 12 hotels and onboarded 14 more in the first half of the fiscal year. The addition of these hotels has helped IHCL reach the 250-plus operational properties milestone, reinforcing its leading position in the Indian hospitality sector.
