Synopsis

Hilton has partnered with MKR Estate Developers to establish the 195-key Hilton Chennai Egmore, part of a mixed-use project with office spaces, set to open in January 2029. The hotel aims to meet growing demand for premium corporate and social hospitality in Chennai. In Uttar Pradesh, Radisson Hotel Group opened the 80-key Park Inn by Radisson Lucknow Vikas Nagar and the 108-key Radisson Hotel Prayagraj. Both groups are strategically expanding in key urban and tier-II markets, reflecting the increasing presence of global hotel brands in India's growing hospitality and tourism sector.

Hilton has entered into a partnership with MKR Estate Developers, part of the MGM Healthcare Group, to launch the 195-key Hilton Chennai Egmore. The hotel is scheduled to open in January 2029 and will be part of a larger mixed-use development that will also feature a commercial office complex. Hilton said this project will strengthen its South India portfolio, noting Chennai's importance as a hub for both business and leisure travellers. The property is expected to cater to rising demand for premium hospitality, corporate meetings, and social events in the city.

Meanwhile, Radisson Hotel Group has opened two new hotels in Uttar Pradesh. The 80-key Park Inn by Radisson Lucknow Vikas Nagar and the 108-key Radisson Hotel Prayagraj are now operational. Radisson emphasized that these openings are a key step in its expansion across North India. The group is focusing on growth in state capitals and tier-II cities, aiming to deliver value to both guests and business partners while supporting local tourism and economic development.

These moves reflect the growing interest of international hotel chains in India's hospitality sector, particularly in markets that are seeing increased business and leisure travel. By entering strategic cities and integrating with broader real estate developments, Hilton and Radisson are positioned to benefit from urban growth and tourism demand. Their investments highlight a trend where global hotel brands are actively contributing to regional economic growth and enhancing the quality of hospitality infrastructure in emerging and established markets.
