FIFA President Gianni Infantino has pledged the organization's support to rebuild football infrastructure in Gaza as part of broader post-war reconstruction efforts. This commitment was made during a peace summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, where over 20 world leaders gathered to plan for regional stability and reconstruction.

Infantino emphasized FIFA's role in fostering unity and hope through football, especially for children affected by the conflict. He stated that the organization would help restore football in Gaza and the wider Palestinian territories, including rebuilding facilities destroyed during Israel's military operation that resulted in over 67,000 casualties. FIFA will also launch a fund to support new pitches and youth programs in Gaza and the wider Palestinian territories.

The initiatives include constructing mini-pitches and "FIFA Arenas" in collaboration with the Palestinian Football Association and encouraging additional partners to contribute. Infantino highlighted that football's role is to support, unite, and give hope, and that FIFA is committed to helping rebuild all the football facilities in Gaza and create opportunities for children through the game.

This announcement comes amid ongoing efforts by FIFA to address allegations raised by the Palestinian Football Association regarding discrimination by the Israel Football Association. FIFA's disciplinary committee is currently investigating these allegations, which include accusations of complicity in international law violations and discrimination against Arab players. The outcome of this investigation may influence future decisions regarding Israel's participation in international football competitions.
