Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan has strengthened his presence in Alibaug, a coastal town near Mumbai, by acquiring three adjacent plots totaling 9,557 sq ft. The plots, part of the 'A Alibaug Phase-2' project by The House of Abhinandan Lodha, were bought for a combined INR 6.6 crore, following an earlier purchase of a 10,000 sq ft plot in the same area for INR 10 crore. These acquisitions highlight his consistent interest in luxury real estate in the region, a popular destination for high-profile individuals seeking premium second homes and villas.
Amitabh Bachchan has recently purchased three adjoining plots in Alibaug, a coastal town favored by affluent individuals for its scenic views and proximity to Mumbai. The total land spans 9,557 sq ft, with individual plots valued at INR 2.78 crore for Plot 96, INR 1.92 crore for Plot 97, and INR 1.88 crore for Plot 98, bringing the total investment to INR 6.6 crore.
The transactions were officially registered earlier this week, with stamp duty of INR 39.58 lakh and a registration fee of INR 90,000. The plots were acquired from HOABL Landbuild Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), as part of their 'A Alibaug Phase-2' development. This follows Bachchan's previous acquisition in April last year of a 10,000 sq ft plot in the same region for INR 10 crore. Both acquisitions form part of HoABL's 20-acre plotted development project, launched in April 2023, which aims to offer exclusive, high-end residential plots.
Alibaug, located about three hours from Mumbai, has grown into a sought-after location for luxury villas and second homes. The area attracts prominent individuals looking for tranquil retreats close to the city while offering premium amenities. With these acquisitions, Bachchan continues to expand his real estate portfolio in one of India's most preferred coastal destinations for high-value properties.
