Earlier this month, the Union Railways Minister visited the Sabarmati site of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor to review construction progress. Union Minister for Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted an on-site review of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail project at Sabarmati in Ahmedabad. He inspected the high-speed rail (HSR) station, the multimodal transport hub, and the rolling stock depot. The terminal station, inspired by the charkha associated with Mahatma Gandhi, is being constructed over 45,000 sq m. The station will feature world-class passenger facilities, including waiting lounges, restrooms, a nursery, and retail and commercial spaces. Moreover, the new terminal will be seamlessly integrated with Ahmedabad's existing railway, metro, and BRTS networks, facilitating convenient intermodal connectivity. The minister's inspection was intended to assess construction milestones, identify any challenges, and reinforce the project's adherence to timelines and quality standards.
The minister's site visit underscores the government's intent to push forward the bullet train project with diligence and precision.
