The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has recently sanctioned six new real estate projects worth INR 176.28 crore across six cities - Ayodhya, Noida, Jhansi, Moradabad, Lucknow, and Prayagraj. The move will enable the development of 501 residential and commercial units, reinforcing the Authority's efforts to expand regulated development beyond major metropolitan centres in the state.
The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) announced earlier this week that it had approved six new real estate projects collectively valued at INR 176.28 crore, paving the way for 501 residential and commercial units across the state. The decision was taken during the Authority's 186th meeting, chaired by UP RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy.
These newly sanctioned projects, located in Ayodhya, Noida, Jhansi, Moradabad, Lucknow, and Prayagraj, represent a steady expansion of real estate development into emerging urban centres beyond the state's leading metropolitan areas. Bhoosreddy stated that the Authority remained dedicated to ensuring transparency, accountability, and structured growth within the sector, adding that UP RERA's stringent approval system guaranteed that only compliant projects were permitted to proceed.
He further noted that the approval of these six projects reflected the increasing confidence in the state's regulated real estate framework. With a cumulative investment exceeding INR 176 crore, the projects were expected to stimulate residential and commercial development across diverse regions of Uttar Pradesh.
These approvals followed two significant rounds of clearances by the Authority in recent weeks. In the past week, UP RERA had sanctioned eight projects amounting to an investment of INR 1,948 crore, comprising 3,005 units in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Agra, Jhansi, Noida, and Firozabad. A week prior to that, it had cleared 21 projects worth INR 7,035 crore, contributing 10,866 housing and commercial units across the state.
By approving projects in both established and emerging cities, the Authority is promoting balanced growth, ensuring compliance, and supporting the state's broader goal of expanding urban development beyond traditional hubs.
