Synopsis

In a display of solidarity with Maharashtra's flood-affected farming community, NAREDCO Maharashtra contributed INR 3.12 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to aid ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts. Of this, Pune members donated INR 1 crore while the remainder came from Mumbai MMR members. The initiative, involving nearly 20 NAREDCO members, aims to help restore livelihoods and provide much-needed support to farmers severely impacted by recent floods that devastated key agrarian districts across the state.

In a compassionate response to the widespread devastation caused by recent torrential rains and flash floods across Maharashtra, the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) Maharashtra contributed INR 3.12 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The donation was made to assist farmers struggling to rebuild their lives after extensive damage to crops, homes, and farmlands in major agricultural regions such as Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Nashik, Raigad, and Ratnagiri.

Of the total contribution, Pune members of NAREDCO Maharashtra offered INR 1 crore, while members from Mumbai Metropolitan Region jointly contributed the remaining amount. The funds are intended to support livelihood restoration, home reconstruction, and rehabilitation for farmers enduring severe financial hardship following the floods.

NAREDCO Maharashtra's President, Prashant Sharma, mentioned that the state's farmers, often regarded as its 'Annadata', form the backbone of the economy and deserve unwavering support in times of crisis. He conveyed that the organisation's contribution symbolised its commitment to stand beside the farming community while complementing the government's ongoing efforts toward relief and recovery. He added that the gesture reflected the council's gratitude towards those who sustain the nation and expressed hope that the contribution would bring comfort and hope to those worst affected.

The organisation acknowledged the collective efforts of its members who united for the cause and reiterated its long-standing commitment to social and humanitarian initiatives. NAREDCO Maharashtra has consistently extended aid for community welfare and disaster response, emphasising that true progress depends on the balanced development of both urban and rural sectors.

With the state government continuing large-scale relief operations - having disbursed over INR 8,000 crore to nearly 40 lakh flood-affected farmers - NAREDCO Maharashtra reaffirmed its pledge to maintain awareness and encourage further support for the agrarian population.

NAREDCO Maharashtra's contribution to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund reinforces its enduring commitment to social responsibility and collective resilience. By assisting farmers grappling with the aftermath of the floods, the organisation has underscored the importance of solidarity between the urban development community and rural livelihoods. Its efforts, alongside the state's ongoing initiatives, signify a united approach towards rebuilding Maharashtra's agrarian economy and helping affected farmers recover with renewed strength and hope.
