Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia recently reviewed key development projects in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, highlighting the need to speed up initiatives in infrastructure, health, education, and public facilities. He set timelines for important projects, including the Gwalior Elevated Road, railway station renovation, and Agra-Gwalior Expressway. Scindia also acknowledged the efforts of various central and state ministers in driving these projects. The review emphasized coordinated work between the central and state governments to transform Gwalior into a modern, well-planned city while maintaining high standards of quality.
Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, conducted a detailed review of ongoing development projects in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, at the Gwalior collectorate. The review focused on evaluating the progress of major initiatives, addressing delays, and ensuring timely completion. Scindia highlighted the importance of accelerating projects related to infrastructure, education, health, drinking water, sanitation, and public facilities, stressing that quality should not be compromised. He pointed out that Gwalior's historical and cultural significance provides a strong foundation for development and modernization, and aimed to establish the city as a model district in the coming years.
Among the key projects, the first phase of the Gwalior Elevated Road, valued at INR 446.92 crore, is expected to be completed by October 2027. The second phase, costing INR 926.21 crore, has a target completion date of November 2027. The renovation of Gwalior Railway Station, with a budget of INR 534.70 crore, will introduce new platforms and modern passenger amenities while preserving its heritage aspects, and is slated for completion by April 2026. The Agra-Gwalior Expressway, with an investment of INR 4,613 crore, has commenced the land acquisition process and is designed to boost industrial and commercial development in the region.
Scindia acknowledged the contributions of Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, for his role in the Elevated Road and Agra Expressway projects; Union Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnav, for overseeing the railway station renovation; and Housing and Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for supporting water supply initiatives. He also recognized Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for leading the Ambedkar Dham project. He emphasized that the combined efforts of central and state governments would help Gwalior emerge as a prosperous, modern, and well-planned city.
