Synopsis

The Anant Nagar Housing Scheme in Lucknow began its lottery process earlier this week, allotting more than 50 plots on the first day. Spread over 785 acres along Mohan Road, the project is designed to provide housing for around 1.5 lakh residents. The scheme features residential plots, commercial spaces, group housing, and PMAY-supported homes for EWS and LIG categories. Transparent lottery procedures and detailed planning for infrastructure, green spaces, and an Edutech City are part of the development.

The lottery for plots under the Anant Nagar Housing Scheme in Lucknow started earlier this week, with the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) allotting over 50 plots on the first day. A total of 56 plots were allotted, including 19 plots of 450 square metres and 37 plots of 162 square metres. Around 1,400 applicants participated in the first draw. LDA officials confirmed that subsequent lotteries will continue over the coming days, allowing more applicants to secure plots of different sizes.

The Anant Nagar project covers 785 acres along Mohan Road and is expected to house approximately 1.5 lakh residents once fully developed. The plan includes around 2,100 residential plots and 120 commercial plots. Additionally, more than 10,000 flats are planned across 60 group housing plots. Housing for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Lower Income Group (LIG) is also incorporated, with provision for 5,000 buildings. The scheme also integrates homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), ensuring affordable housing options.

Infrastructure planning has been given priority. The layout follows a grid pattern with wide roads and underground power cabling. Around 130 acres have been reserved for parks and green spaces to create a balanced living environment. An Edutech City is also part of the project, aiming to provide dedicated facilities for students and faculty members in a modern campus-like setting.

The lottery process has been designed to ensure transparency, with applicants drawing slips themselves. Officials emphasized that the approach is meant to make the allotment process fair and open, reducing the chances of manipulation. The Anant Nagar project is expected to enhance housing infrastructure in Lucknow significantly, providing well-planned residential, commercial, and community facilities for a growing urban population.
