The Punjab government has rolled out a major infrastructure initiative to strengthen the state's industrial areas, with a total investment of INR 232 crore. The mission aims to enhance operational efficiency, attract fresh investments, and provide better facilities for local businesses across 26 industrial hubs.

The Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC) is leading a project worth INR 97.54 crore to revamp key industrial points. The plan includes the development of smoother roads and proper signage worth INR 32.76 crore across districts such as Ludhiana and Mohali. Sewerage systems and sewage treatment plants (STPs) are being upgraded with INR 27.61 crore investment. The project also covers robust water supply networks, brighter street lighting, and other essential civic amenities.

Simultaneously, the Department of Local Government is implementing a INR 134.44 crore project targeting 26 industrial points, including seven major zones in Ludhiana and Khanna. The upgrade focuses on modern roads and pavements, improved sewerage and water systems, green belts for better environment, and enhanced street lighting. Community facilities such as gyms and community centers equipped with CCTV security are also part of the project, ensuring safety and convenience for workers and residents.

These projects are a direct response to repeated industry concerns regarding inadequate infrastructure. The Punjab Development Commission deployed teams across industrial zones to assess gaps and design a phased, actionable plan. The tendering process for the mission has begun, signaling the start of tangible on-ground changes.
