The Enforcement Directorate has attached 34 more properties worth over INR 40 crore in the MUDA land scam, taking total attached assets to over INR 440 crore. The investigation revealed that former MUDA commissioner GT Dinesh Kumar illegally allotted sites to relatives and associates, using the proceeds to acquire additional properties. The probe has also implicated Karnataka Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah and his wife, BM Parvathi, who allegedly secured 14 sites as compensation for land acquired by MUDA. Earlier actions by ED had already attached 92 properties worth INR 100 crore.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has recently attached 34 additional properties valued at over INR 40 crore in connection with the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam. With this move, the total value of assets attached in the case has now crossed INR 440 crore.
The investigation revealed that GT Dinesh Kumar, the former MUDA commissioner, allegedly misused his position to allot sites illegally to relatives and close associates. The proceeds from these transactions were reportedly used to acquire properties in the names of these individuals.
Further inquiries indicated that several MUDA sites were also allocated as compensation to real estate businessmen, who later sold them for substantial profits, generating unaccounted money. The probe has extended to include Karnataka Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah and his wife, BM Parvathi. The ED alleges that 14 sites were secured in Parvathi's name as compensation for land acquired by MUDA, allegedly with Siddaramaiah's influence.
This action follows earlier steps by the ED, which had attached 92 properties worth INR 100 crore in June, raising the total attached assets in the MUDA scam to over INR 540 crore. The ongoing investigation is focused on dismantling the network of illegal allotments and recovering the proceeds of these transactions. Authorities continue to scrutinize all beneficiaries of MUDA sites and are working to ensure that assets obtained through fraudulent means are traced and confiscated.
