Synopsis

India Accelerator has opened a 10,000 sq ft co-working centre in Surat, Gujarat, providing 280 desks to support startup ventures. This expansion follows the company's recent acquisition of co-working operator MySOHO, which has 18 centres across eight cities, in a cash-equity deal. IA plans to grow its footprint to over 45 hubs in 30 cities, covering 625,000 sq ft and offering 12,500 seats. The strategy integrates workspace facilities with startup support services such as mentorship, investor access, and guidance programs, aiming to strengthen India's growing flexible office ecosystem.

India Accelerator (IA) has launched a new co-working centre in Surat, Gujarat, spanning 10,000 sq ft and equipped with 280 desks. The centre is designed to assist startup companies with infrastructure and workspace solutions, helping founders focus on growth and business development. The move reinforces IA's presence in Gujarat and aligns with its broader expansion strategy.

Earlier this month, IA completed the acquisition of co-working company MySOHO, which operates 18 centres across eight Indian cities. The deal was structured as a combination of cash and equity, though the company did not disclose financial details. MySOHO's network provides approximately 90,000 sq ft of workspace with around 1,800 desks and reportedly maintains about 90 percent occupancy, offering a ready platform for IA to integrate into its expanding co-working ecosystem.

The Surat centre forms part of IA's larger plan to scale co-working spaces to more than 45 hubs in 30 cities. The target includes providing 625,000 sq ft of office space and 12,500 desks across the country. Each hub is expected to combine physical workspace with programs supporting startups, including mentorship sessions, investor networking opportunities, and startup clinics, creating a comprehensive support system for founders.

The flexible office market in India has grown steadily over the past few years. Reports from real estate consultancies indicate that the top eight cities together had nearly 80 million sq ft of flexible office space by mid 2025, and the sector is projected to exceed 100 million sq ft by 2026. IA's expansion strategy positions it to meet the rising demand for integrated workspaces that combine infrastructure with entrepreneurial support.
