The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has taken significant steps to recover pending property tax dues by conducting auctions and attaching assets in its key zones, focusing on ensuring compliance and clearing long-outstanding payments.

In the Lakadganj Zone (Ward 08), a public auction covering 19 properties in Mauja Pardi and Mauja Nagpur was organized. During this drive, owners of five properties cleared dues amounting to INR 10.45 lakh directly. Additionally, five properties with dues valued at INR 1.66 crore were successfully auctioned. Nine properties still remain pending, and the NMC has issued deadlines for their owners to settle outstanding taxes. Non-compliance by the given time will trigger further auction actions in accordance with the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act, 1949.

In Laxmi Nagar Zone (Ward 01), the NMC attached movable and immovable assets of M/s Premier Technology Pvt Ltd. This company had defaulted on property taxes over the period from 2023 to 2025, with total dues amounting to INR 13.54 lakh. These actions were carried out under the supervision of Naresh Kelzarkar, supported by tax officials Gautam Meshram, Narendra Jambhulkar, Purushottam Bhadang, Amol Katekar, and Rahul Gedam. The NMC has highlighted that failure to comply may lead to government orders being published under Section 45(1) of the Municipal Act.

The corporation has reiterated its commitment to strict enforcement, encouraging all property owners with pending dues to clear them promptly to avoid legal consequences. Officials emphasized that such measures are aimed at maintaining transparency and fairness in tax collection while preventing delays in civic revenue streams. The NMC continues to monitor compliance closely and will take further action wherever required to ensure dues are recovered efficiently.
