The event celebrated inclusivity and accessibility, focusing on empowering specially-abled individuals while reflecting Hilton's broader commitment to fostering an equitable and compassionate world.
The event carried the theme Walk for Inclusion and Empowerment of Specially-Abled Associates and drew significant participation from industry leaders, NGOs, Rotary clubs, and inclusion advocates. Attendees took part in a symbolic Walk for Inclusion & Empowerment, community networking sessions for inclusive hiring, and an interactive 'Walk in My Shoes' activity designed to highlight the lived experiences of diverse abilities. The gathering also saw appearances by dignitaries, star runners, and Mr Dhanush Manjunath, Guinness World Record holder and Brand Ambassador, currently on a mission to cycle from India to the UK.
The walkathon was further distinguished by the presence of Mr Sri Das Suryavanshi, a veteran of more than three decades in disability rights, who is known for milestones such as creating the first Kannada Braille Calendar and Bible and establishing Bidar's first school for the blind. His tenure as State Commissioner for Disabilities included initiatives that brought thousands of persons with disabilities into local governance across Karnataka.
Following the walk, participants were hosted by DoubleTree by Hilton Bengaluru Whitefield for an inclusive breakfast experience, reflecting Hilton's hallmark hospitality and focus on dignity and belonging.
