Synopsis

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the signing of The Landmark Kanpur, a 170-key property that will join the JdV by Hyatt brand and is expected to open in early 2026. This marks the brand's second property in India after Goa. The company emphasised its commitment to working with leading local operators to provide distinct hospitality experiences while building on The Landmark's longstanding reputation in Kanpur.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced earlier this week that it had signed The Landmark Kanpur, a 170-key hotel which will operate under the JdV by Hyatt brand. The property is scheduled to open in early 2026.

Company executives stated that the collaboration reflects Hyatt's focus on working alongside distinguished local operators to deliver unique and memorable guest experiences in emerging hospitality markets.

Dhruva Rathore, Vice President for Real Estate and Development for India and SouthWest Asia, remarked that building on The Landmark's esteemed legacy in Kanpur, Hyatt aims to elevate the property further under the JdV by Hyatt brand.

The Landmark Kanpur becomes the second JdV by Hyatt hotel in India, following the 135-key JdV by Hyatt in Goa, which was the first of the brand to debut in the country.

The signing of The Landmark Kanpur underlines Hyatt's continued investment in the Indian hospitality sector, particularly in high-potential tier-two markets. By aligning with respected regional operators, the company is positioning its JdV brand to capture growing demand while preserving the character of established local properties. With Kanpur set to host this new addition by early 2026, Hyatt is further strengthening its presence beyond traditional metropolitan hubs.
