The PM Svamitva Yojana is helping families in rural Andhra Pradesh gain formal ownership of ancestral lands long held without documents. Using drones and rovers, survey teams are mapping properties in villages and Gram Kantham Abadi areas, creating accurate digital records. The implementation of the scheme is structured in phases. In the initial phase, 5.18 lakh property parcels were surveyed. The ongoing second phase aims to cover 43.22 lakh properties across 5,850 villages, with a target completion date of October 31. The third phase will address an additional 45 lakh parcels. This systematic approach is expected to permanently resolve rural property disputes and streamline records for future generations.
The program is set to boost the revenue of local panchayats. Properties that have remained untaxed for decades will now be identified and brought into the tax net, ensuring accountability and strengthening local bodies with much-needed funds.
