Gurugram is set to get an integrated bus terminal in Sector 10, designed to link directly with the upcoming metro corridor and improve last-mile connectivity. Developed at a cost of INR 32.4 crore, the project will convert seven acres of the existing depot into a modern terminal with multiple bus bays, waiting areas, and commuter facilities. Two additional terminals are planned at Sector 29 and Rajiv Chowk, while a depot-cum-terminal is being considered for Sector 12. With Gurugram's fleet expected to expand from 150 to 900 buses, the new facilities will form a critical part of the city's transport upgrade.
Gurugram will soon have an integrated bus terminal at Sector 10 that will directly connect with the planned metro corridor. The redevelopment is aimed at improving travel between different modes of transport, making bus and metro services easier to access. The project will be developed at a cost of INR 32.4 crore.
Out of the 13 acres currently used for the bus depot, about 7 acres will be converted into the new terminal. The facility will have multiple bus bays, proper waiting areas, and passenger facilities to handle higher volumes of commuters. At present, the depot can accommodate around 200 buses at one time.
The GMDA has already completed the detailed project report and secured administrative approval.
In addition to the Sector 10 project, two more bus terminals are being planned in Sector 29 and Rajiv Chowk. A depot-cum-terminal is also in the pipeline for Sector 12, for which the state transport department has agreed to provide land. Gurugram currently operates 150 buses on 24 city routes, of which 50 buses run in Faridabad as directed by the state government. Plans are in place to raise the city's bus fleet to 900 in the future, which will require additional supporting infrastructure.
