Synopsis

PRISM, OYO's parent company, has introduced CheckIn, an app dedicated to premium and luxury hotels and homes. Featuring brands like SUNDAY Hotels, Clubhouse, Palette, and European holiday homes, CheckIn aims to offer high-quality stays with consistent standards and a seamless booking experience. While OYO's main app remains for budget travellers, CheckIn targets design-focused and experience-oriented users. Piloted three months ago in India, it already covers cities like London, Dubai, Bali, and Indian destinations, with plans for a global rollout.

PRISM, the parent company of OYO, recently launched a new app named CheckIn, created specifically for its premium properties worldwide. The app will showcase a range of premium hotels, homes, and experiences, including SUNDAY Hotels, Clubhouse, Palette, and European holiday homes such as CheckMyGuest, Dancenter, and Belvilla.

While the existing OYO App will continue to cater to budget-conscious travellers, CheckIn is aimed at the premium and luxury segment. Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and Group CEO of PRISM, explained that the app provides two main advantages: assurance that every property adheres to strict quality and service standards, and the convenience of accessing diverse premium options without having to navigate multiple platforms. He compared the role of CheckIn in premium travel to OYO's global association with budget stays.

The CheckIn collection and app were first tested on the Play Store and App Store in India three months ago. Properties in cities such as London, Dubai, Bali, and several Indian locations are already accepting bookings. Currently, the app is available in India, with plans for global expansion in the near future.

OYO highlighted that approximately 45% of users consistently chose budget-friendly accommodations, while nearly 55% preferred higher-quality, design-focused, and experience-driven stays. Since its founding in 2012, OYO has evolved from a budget travel-tech brand standardising small hotels in India through technology to expanding globally into premium hotels and vacation homes.
