Synopsis

In an exchange filing earlier this week, NBCC India reported a consolidated net profit increase of nearly 26 per cent for the opening quarter of the current fiscal year compared to the same period a year ago. The company also recorded double-digit revenue growth and announced a first interim dividend for shareholders. The strong quarterly performance reflected the firm's expanding project portfolio and steady execution capabilities.

NBCC India has confirmed a significant improvement in its financial results for the quarter just concluded, with consolidated net profit rising by nearly 26 per cent over the same period last year. According to the company's filing with the stock exchange, profit after tax climbed to INR 135.03 crore from INR 107.19 crore a year earlier.

The state-owned construction and project management firm also recorded robust revenue growth during the period. Its total income increased by approximately 12 per cent year-on-year, reaching INR 2,465.48 crore, compared to INR 2,196.20 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. This growth was attributed to a higher pace of project execution and a steady flow of new assignments across its portfolio, which spans real estate development, government infrastructure works, and redevelopment projects.

In addition to reporting healthy earnings, the board of directors approved a first interim dividend of INR 0.21 per equity share, with a face value of INR 1 each. This payout underscores the management's intent to provide timely returns to its investors while maintaining financial discipline.

Market observers noted that the results indicate consistent operational efficiency and the ability to scale up work in line with demand.

The company's performance comes against the backdrop of sustained public sector project spending and urban redevelopment initiatives, which continue to provide NBCC with a stable pipeline of work.
