Synopsis

Omaxe Ltd. has committed to Haryana's 'Matri Van' initiative by adopting a 10-acre stretch of land in the Aravalli Hills, Gurugram. This move forms part of a larger 750-acre afforestation drive by the state government aimed at improving Delhi-NCR's air quality and biodiversity. Omaxe will undertake plantation and sustained maintenance of native and medicinal species such as Peepal, Bael, and Imli, aligning the effort with its ESG goals and green development philosophy. The forest is expected to offer a lasting natural space for citizens, while enhancing the region's environmental resilience.

Omaxe Ltd. has adopted 10 acres of land in the Aravalli Hills of Gurugram under the Haryana Government's 'Matri Van' mission, aimed at boosting green cover and ecological restoration in the NCR. Envisioned as a 750-acre urban forest, Matri Van is designed to serve as a critical environmental buffer for Delhi-NCR, promoting biodiversity, improving air quality, and offering a serene natural retreat to city residents.

The Haryana Government has allocated 150 acres of the project to CREDAI, with developers voluntarily taking charge of maintaining specific plots. Omaxe will plant and nurture native and medicinal trees, including Peepal, Bael, and Imli-species selected for their ecological, cultural, and wellness benefits. Importantly, the company will not only carry out the plantation but will also ensure continuous care until the area develops into a sustainable, self-sufficient ecosystem.

The initiative is envisioned to serve both environmental and community purposes, transforming the area into a green haven for health-conscious individuals, families, and visitors. It is part of a broader commitment by Omaxe to build environmentally responsible and people-centric developments.

Mohit Goel, Managing Director of Omaxe Ltd., remarked that the company was proud to contribute to the Matri Van mission, which he described as an inspiring step towards ecological awareness. He stated that green spaces were a fundamental component of Omaxe's development model, reflecting a deep commitment to sustainability and resident well-being. According to him, integrating greenery not only supported the environment but also added long-term value to real estate.

Omaxe's participation in Matri Van complements its established ESG framework, which has previously emphasised landscaped parks, tree-lined pathways, and environmentally sensitive township designs. The company continues to embed green thinking into its real estate practices, reinforcing the link between nature, liveability, and real estate growth.
