Actor Akshay Kumar recently sold two flats in Borivali East, Mumbai earning nearly 91% profit on the transaction. The combined sale value stood at INR 7.10 crore. These properties, located in Oberoi Sky City, were originally purchased in 2017. One of them, a 1,101 sq ft apartment, fetched INR 5.75 crore, while the smaller 252 sq ft unit was sold for INR 1.35 crore. The resale took place earlier this week, with both transactions showing significant appreciation and highlighting strong demand in the western suburbs.
Akshay Kumar has sold two residential units in Oberoi Sky City, Borivali East, for a total consideration of INR 7.10 crore. The flats were purchased back in 2017. The larger flat measured 1,101 sq ft and included two car parking spaces. It was sold for INR 5.75 crore, nearly double the original purchase cost of INR 3.02 crore. The second flat, a 252 sq ft studio apartment, was sold for INR 1.35 crore. Akshay had originally bought it for INR 67.90 lakh. The buyer in this case paid INR 6.75 lakh as stamp duty and INR 30,000 in registration charges. These deals were executed and registered earlier this week.
The properties were part of Oberoi Sky City, a high-end residential project in Borivali East. Data from Square Yards indicates that in the past 12 months, 100 resale transactions were recorded in the project, with total deal value amounting to INR 428 crore. The average resale rate stood at approximately INR 47,800 per sq ft.
The project has attracted other prominent names from the film industry as well. In May last year, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan also purchased flats in the same complex, reaffirming the development's appeal among high-profile buyers.
This isn't Akshay Kumar's only recent real estate transaction. In recent months, he has sold multiple properties across Mumbai. These include a luxury apartment in Worli that fetched INR 80 crore, a Borivali property sold for INR 4.25 crore, and an office space in Lower Parel sold for INR 8 crore. All these deals have together crossed INR 110 crore in value, indicating a strategic realignment of his real estate portfolio.
