Synopsis

Solar RE Power, a subsidiary of SAEL Industries, has commissioned a 50 megawatt (MW) solar power plant in Beed district, Maharashtra. This ground-mounted project, featuring TOPCon bifacial modules for high energy yield, is expected to generate over 100 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually. Backed by a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), the plant aligns with the government's vision for a sustainable energy future. This initiative strengthens SAEL Industries' renewable energy portfolio across India and supports Maharashtra's clean energy targets, further reducing carbon emissions.

Solar RE Power, a subsidiary of SAEL Industries, recently announced the commissioning of a 50 megawatt (MW) solar power plant in Beed district of Maharashtra. This development marks a new addition to the state's clean energy infrastructure.

The plant is expected to generate over 100 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually. This output aligns with the government's vision for a sustainable energy future, as Maharashtra is actively pushing to increase its renewable energy contribution to 52 percent of its overall energy mix by 2030, from a current 13 percent. The state also targets commissioning 16,000 MW of feeder-level solar plants by December 2026.

The 50 MW ground-mounted solar project uses TOPCon bifacial modules. These modules are designed to capture sunlight from both sides, improving energy yield. They also offer reliable performance, even in various environmental conditions, making them efficient for power generation.

The project is supported by a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). This long-term agreement ensures stable revenue and tariff prices, following industry best practices for renewable energy projects.

SAEL Industries, a renewable energy company involved in agri waste-to-energy, utility-connected solar projects, and solar module manufacturing manages a portfolio of over 6.7 GW of solar independent power producer assets across India, contributing to the nation's energy transition goals.

Laxit Awla, Director at SAEL Industries, stated that as they expand their renewable energy footprint in India, they aim to provide sustainable infrastructure that benefits both people and the environment.
