Hyderabad: GHMC generates INR 760 crore from real estate approvals in five months

Synopsis

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) earned INR 759.98 crore from building permissions and occupancy certificates in the five months from April to August 2025, reflecting a 90% rise over the same period last year. The growth was driven by 4,389 building permissions and 1,008 occupancy certificates, facilitated through instant registration, instant approval, and single-window systems.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded a total revenue of INR 759.98 crore from April to August 2025 through the issuance of building permissions and occupancy certificates. Compared with INR 399.61 crore during the same period last year, this reflects a significant 90% growth.


During these five months, GHMC issued 4,389 building permissions and 1,008 occupancy certificates. These approvals were processed under different schemes to ensure efficiency: Under the Instant Registration scheme, 194 building permissions were granted, The Instant Approval scheme facilitated 3,240 building permissions and 161 occupancy certificates and Through the Single Window system, GHMC approved 955 building permissions and 847 occupancy certificates.

The GHMC also highlighted the impact of the H-CITI infrastructure development project on the real estate market. Planned projects include multi-level flyovers, grade separators, underpasses, junction improvements, and road widening works. These initiatives aim to improve traffic flow, enhance connectivity across the city, and support further urban development. Improved infrastructure has also increased investor confidence, helping the municipal corporation maintain a steady flow of approvals and revenue collection.
