UP RERA launches weekly RERA Samvaad to tackle homebuyer grievances

UP RERA has launched a weekly initiative called RERA Samvaad to interact directly with homebuyers and address their concerns over delayed possession, pending complaints, and legal remedies. Scheduled every Saturday, the initiative seeks to build greater transparency, accountability, and consumer trust in the real estate sector.

UP RERA has introduced a weekly platform called RERA Samvaad, aimed at providing homebuyers with a direct channel to raise concerns and seek guidance on matters such as delayed possession and legal redress. The session was chaired by UP RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy, who explained that the authority's purpose was not limited to resolving disputes but extended to building transparency and accountability in the housing sector.


During the discussions, officials outlined the various legal options available to consumers, including filing complaints with RERA, pursuing action against defaulting promoters, and using the regulator's online grievance redressal mechanism. Bhoosreddy emphasised that the Samvaad would not only help address grievances but also enhance awareness among homebuyers, which could reduce disputes in the future. He noted that complaints would be taken up on priority and developers failing to comply would face strict measures.

UP RERA has already held numerous Samvaad sessions and has now decided to conduct them every Saturday as part of its ongoing outreach. Through this platform, the regulator seeks to maintain closer communication with consumers, resolve issues promptly, and strengthen trust in the regulatory framework.

By conducting weekly interactions, the authority is reinforcing consumer confidence and encouraging transparency within the real estate sector. With complaints being prioritised and stricter oversight in place, these sessions are expected to reduce disputes and create a more reliable environment for homebuyers going forward.
