Anjali Tendulkar, wife of cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar, has acquired a residential property in Virar, a rapidly developing part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The property, a 391 sq ft apartment, was purchased for a total of INR 32 lakh.

According to property registration documents, the transaction was officially registered on May 30, 2025. The apartment, situated on the third floor of the Peninsula Heights building, is located on Global City Road in Virar West. The purchase included the payment of a stamp duty of INR 1.92 lakh and a registration fee of INR 30,000.

As a woman homebuyer in Maharashtra, Anjali Tendulkar was eligible for and received a 1% concession on the stamp duty, a benefit offered by the state government to encourage women's homeownership.

This acquisition is indicative of the growing interest in residential properties in the outlying areas of Mumbai. The purchase also comes on the heels of another celebrity-linked real estate transaction, with Gauri Khan, the wife of actor Shah Rukh Khan, recently renting an apartment for their staff in Mumbai for a monthly rent of INR 1.35 lakh.
