Aawas Yojana has named Ankit Sharma as Director of International Community Engagement & Public Confidence, marking a step forward in expanding its housing outreach across India and abroad. He has been given responsibility to lead more than 2,500 housing awareness programs across rural, semi-urban, and urban regions. These programs aim to empower 1.5 crore citizens with verified housing knowledge by 2027 and are projected to generate nearly 3.5 lakh jobs in housing awareness, compliance support, and related areas by 2028.

On the international side, Sharma is steering plans to launch over 10 diaspora engagement platforms covering the UK, Middle East, US, and Australia by 2026. These initiatives are designed to provide NRIs with secure and transparent property opportunities in India. The effort is expected to bring in INR 25,000 crore in diaspora housing investments by 2030, alongside a 50 percent increase in NRI participation in verified digital housing initiatives over the next two years.

According to projections, these combined efforts could add about INR 1.2 lakh crore to India's housing economy by 2028, while foreign and diaspora investments together may reach INR 75,000 crore by 2030. Leadership at Aawas Yojana underlined that the immediate priority is building confidence among Indian citizens, with the belief that strengthening trust at home will encourage global communities to invest securely in India's housing future.

Aawas Yojana is a government-approved real estate company licensed under the Uttarakhand Real Estate Authority (Trade Certificate No. UKREA05250000474). It offers a bank-secured digital platform for both affordable and luxury housing. Its mobile app enables slot-based bookings and transparent, legal property transactions. Operated with the support of WT IT Solutions Pvt Ltd, which also developed the widely used Uttarakhand Police Mobile App, the platform provides verified property listings, compliance checks, and investment options starting from INR 5,000. With rising demand and limited supply, the platform continues to draw attention from families and investors across different segments.
