Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) commenced work on the Naimish Nagar model township project along Sitapur Road, designed to accommodate around 300,000 residents. The first site office is being set up in Purva village, with land acquisitions progressing under a consent-based policy across eighteen targeted villages. The township will feature residential, commercial, and public amenities while supporting industrial, healthcare, educational, and logistics growth. The initiative is also aimed at improving local infrastructure and creating significant employment opportunities for the region.
Lucknow Development Authority initiated the development of the Naimish Nagar model township, a large-scale project spanning approximately 1,084 hectares along Sitapur Road. The township is planned to house around 300,000 residents and serve as a mixed-use urban centre integrating housing, commercial spaces, and essential public facilities.
The project began with the construction of its first site office in Purva village, marking the start of on-ground activities. Land acquisition is being carried out under the authority's consent-based Standard Operating Procedure, aiming to secure cooperation from landowners in the eighteen identified villages, including Bhauli, Lakshmipur, Purba Gaon, Purva, Sairpur, and Farrukhabad.
Officials confirmed that the estimated cost for land acquisition is INR 4,785 crore. The master plan includes wide roads, parks, schools, hospitals, and modern waste-management systems. In addition, the surrounding villages will benefit from upgraded infrastructure such as drainage networks, playgrounds, marriage halls, health centres, ponds, graveyards, crematoriums, and community parks.
Senior LDA officials noted that discussions with farmers are ongoing to finalise the consent process. Once agreements are in place, the formal land-deed procedures will begin. The township is expected to encourage balanced regional growth by promoting healthcare, education, industrial, and logistics development, alongside attracting investment and generating jobs.
The initiative reflects a strategic effort to combine planned urbanisation with rural development, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for residents both within the township and in neighbouring communities.
