Afcom reported a sharp rise in its June quarter net profit, reaching INR 27 crore compared to INR 0.62 crore in the same period last year. The company's total income more than doubled to INR 118.89 crore from INR 39.88 crore a year ago, supported by steady operational performance with network utilisation at nearly 84 per cent. Alongside its financial gains, Afcom has been expanding its international presence, launching a cargo route to Hanoi and signing an interline agreement with VietJet. It also contributed significantly to record transshipment volumes at Velana International Airport in July, strengthening its position in regional logistics.
Afcom has delivered a remarkable improvement in its quarterly earnings, with net profit for the June quarter climbing to INR 27 crore over 43 times higher than the INR 0.62 crore reported in the corresponding period last year. The performance was underpinned by a surge in total income, which more than doubled to INR 118.89 crore from INR 39.88 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
The company's Chairman and Managing Director, C Deepak Parasuraman, noted that Afcom sustained strong operational efficiency, with its network operating at close to 84 per cent capacity during the quarter. This utilisation rate reflects consistent cargo demand across its service network.
The earnings announcement comes as Afcom advances its expansion strategy. In recent months, the company has introduced an international cargo route to Hanoi, Vietnam, and signed an interline agreement with VietJet, enabling broader cargo connectivity to destinations including South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. These moves are expected to strengthen Afcom's reach in Asia's fast-growing trade corridors.
Beyond network expansion, Afcom played a key role in achieving record transshipment volumes at Velana International Airport in July, contributing the highest cargo share in the airport's history. This achievement marks a milestone for the company's international operations and reinforces its growing influence in regional logistics hubs.
Afcom's growth in recent quarters follows steady capacity building over the past year. After receiving its Air Operator's Certificate late last year, the company quickly began international cargo flights. It was listed on the stock exchange the year prior, setting the foundation for the financial and operational gains it is now realising.
