Synopsis

Indore Development Authority approved an integrated plan to construct high-rise housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 for families displaced by the MR-10 corridor expansion. Alongside this, the board cleared several large-scale infrastructure works including a Rail Over Bridge, power line relocations, and a new link road equipped with street lighting. These projects are aimed at improving road connectivity, easing utility constraints, and supporting the city's growing residential demand.

Indore Development Authority (IDA) confirmed that it would build high-rise apartments under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 to provide accommodation for families affected by the MR-10 corridor expansion. The proposed housing will be developed on a 1.613-hectare site within the authority's Town Planning Scheme-08, ensuring the smooth relocation of residents before the road project progresses further. The IDA's chief executive officer stated that this initiative was crucial to facilitating timely development along the MR-10 stretch.

During the same board meeting, chaired by the divisional commissioner, the authority sanctioned a tender worth INR 48.81 crore for constructing a Rail Over Bridge between Laxmibai Nagar and Mangalia railway stations, an essential link in the MR-10 corridor upgrade. In addition, tenders were approved for shifting high-tension and low-tension power lines that currently obstruct development. This included a contract valued at INR 3.93 crore for a 60-metre-wide road and another worth INR 1.90 crore for relocating utilities along master-plan roads in TPS-4 covering Nipania and Kanadiya.

The board also gave the green light for building a 12-metre-wide link road between Ring Road and MR-11. This project will feature the installation of street lighting and the shifting of HT and LT lines to ensure uninterrupted utility services. Together, these measures form a coordinated push to enhance infrastructure and urban mobility in Indore.
