Noida Authority launched a decisive drive against unauthorised constructions, warning homeowners that plot allotments could be cancelled if balcony extensions, extra rooms or fences encroaching on Authority land are not removed. Notices have already been issued under Section 10 of the UP Industrial Area Development Act. The CEO has instructed officials to serve these directly at properties and maintain detailed records. Alongside the crackdown, the Authority is pushing for faster completion of delayed infrastructure works, including the Bhangel Elevated Road, and is implementing measures to improve drainage, cleanliness, verge maintenance and control over stray cattle.
The Noida Authority has begun a comprehensive crackdown on encroachments across its residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Homeowners who have extended balconies, added extra rooms or built fences that occupy Authority land have been cautioned that their plot allotments may be cancelled if these illegal structures are not removed.
During a recent review meeting, the Chief Executive Officer directed officials to deliver notices in person at each property to ensure there is no claim of ignorance. All notices are to be documented thoroughly, and follow-up inspections will be carried out to verify compliance. The Authority emphasised that action under Section 10 of the UP Industrial Area Development Act will continue wherever violations are found.
Officials discussed the adverse impact of such encroachments on ongoing and planned infrastructure works, particularly road construction in various sectors. They were instructed to strengthen coordination between the land records and civil departments to speed up resolution of issues that have caused delays.
In connection with the Bhangel Elevated Road project, the CEO ordered uninterrupted work on drainage, box culverts and other pending elements. Water harvesting systems and approach roads with proper lighting and pedestrian-friendly pathways are to be incorporated. The upper carriageway has already been transferred to the Authority, and funding arrangements are being pursued for full completion.
The review also addressed cleanliness and urban upkeep. Stray cattle will be relocated to designated shelters, soil from central verges must be prevented from spilling onto roads, and waterlogging will be tackled through improved drainage maintenance and correction of invert levels. These measures, the Authority stressed, are aimed at enhancing the city's infrastructure and residents' quality of life.
