Liebherr Appliances India has launched its first-ever Made-in-India range of Fully Integrated refrigerators, freezers, and combination units, manufactured at its Sambhajinagar plant. This marks India as the only country outside Europe producing these luxury appliances. Designed for high-end modular kitchens, the new range blends German engineering with features tailored to Indian climate needs. With immediate product availability, BIS compliance, and strong after-sales support, Liebherr aims to drive local adoption of built-in kitchen solutions. The launch was celebrated in Mumbai and aligns with India's growing demand for stylish, performance-driven home appliances-particularly in urban markets where modular kitchens and luxury housing are on the rise.
Liebherr Appliances India, the domestic subsidiary of the globally reputed Liebherr Group, has entered a new chapter by unveiling its first-ever Made-in-India range of Fully Integrated (FI) refrigerators, freezers, and combination models. This milestone was celebrated during an exclusive, immersive launch event held at the brand's experience centre in Powai, Mumbai, which brought together key leadership figures from both global and Indian operations.
With this development, India has become the only country outside Europe where Liebherr manufactures its Fully Integrated appliances. The production takes place at the brand's Sambhajinagar facility and signifies a major shift from imported products to locally made, tropicalised units. These are tailored for India's climate extremes, incorporating robust compressors, advanced insulation, and optimised cooling systems for energy-efficient, long-lasting performance.
The new Fully Integrated appliances are designed to blend seamlessly into high-end modular kitchens. They represent Liebherr's commitment to combining minimalist design with German precision engineering and cutting-edge cooling technology. The product range targets India's affluent urban households and discerning consumers who seek luxury and functionality in equal measure.
At the launch event, Ms. Stefanie Wohlfarth, Vice President of the Administrative Board at Liebherr Appliances, expressed pride in introducing the brand's built-in segment to the Indian market. She emphasised the alignment between India's increasing appetite for high-performance, design-led products and Liebherr's core philosophy of precision and innovation. She also reiterated that India holds strategic importance in the group's global growth vision.
Mr. Steffen Nagel, Managing Director of Sales and Marketing for the Appliance Division, noted that India's favourable response to Liebherr's top-mount and single-door offerings laid the foundation for this premium range expansion. He remarked that the company is now ready to showcase its most refined European offerings to Indian customers who are increasingly embracing sophisticated home solutions.
According to Mr. Kapil Agarwal, Managing Director - Sales, Liebherr Appliances India, the newly launched range is the widest in the Indian market. He added that Liebherr is ensuring immediate product availability without import-related delays, thanks to local manufacturing. The models comply with the revised BIS norms and are supported by a robust nationwide distribution and after-sales network. Agarwal affirmed that this initiative will simplify adoption of the built-in category among Indian consumers by addressing key barriers such as wait times and service accessibility.
The Fully Integrated appliance segment, which already commands more than 20% of the European market, is seeing growing interest in India due to the rise in modular kitchens, luxury real estate, and smart-home installations. The segment is experiencing double-digit growth, with particularly strong traction in Tier-1 cities and emerging metros. Liebherr's entry is expected to accelerate this trend by setting new standards for product readiness, durability, and style.
The brand is backing its launch with a wide-reaching marketing campaign across print, digital, and influencer-led channels, complemented by experience-driven studio activations that allow potential customers to engage with the products in real time.
