Synopsis

Uttar Pradesh is set to establish two state-of-the-art Integrated Manufacturing Clusters (IMCs) in Agra and Prayagraj at a projected cost of INR 1,046 crore, aiming to boost industrial growth and create large-scale employment. These upcoming clusters will feature high-end infrastructure, incubation centres, R&D units, and skill development facilities. Developed under a Special Purpose Vehicle involving both central and state governments, the initiative is expected to enhance investor confidence and reshape the industrial profile of the region.

Uttar Pradesh is poised to witness a significant industrial transformation with the launch of two Integrated Manufacturing Clusters (IMCs) in Agra and Prayagraj, with a combined investment of approximately INR 1,046 crore. These clusters are expected to accelerate the state's industrial momentum and generate widespread employment, particularly for local youth.

The IMCs are set to accommodate a mix of manufacturing units supported by advanced infrastructure, including facilities for research and development, technological innovation, and skill enhancement. The state government indicated that special focus will be placed on establishing incubation centres to promote traditional industries and entrepreneurship.

To ensure seamless development, the clusters are being implemented through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed in partnership with the central and state governments. The Agra cluster is being developed over 1,058 acres in Rahan Kalan, while the Prayagraj IMC will cover 351 acres in the Karchana block. Both sites are to be equipped with robust infrastructure such as roads, water and power supply, ICT connectivity, and green spaces.

According to the government, these model industrial zones aim to not only stimulate manufacturing activity and attract investment but also position Agra and Prayagraj as benchmark cities on the state's industrial map. Officials noted that the clusters would offer investors a plug-and-play environment, eliminating the need for additional setup expenses and reinforcing Uttar Pradesh's business-friendly credentials.

The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) will provide land and essential resources for the project. A dedicated project implementation team has already been appointed to monitor and drive timely execution, with the goal of completing development within a 36-month timeframe.

Support for the initiative will be extended by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDC), a central government agency, which will offer funding and technical assistance. The SPV, named Integrated Manufacturing Cluster Agra Prayagraj Limited, will ensure that the development remains on schedule and adheres to quality benchmarks.
