Orthopaedic aids manufacturer Tynor Orthotics has launched a state-of-the-art textile manufacturing unit Ortech Textiles in Mohali, Punjab. Developed with an investment of INR 300 crore, the facility spans six acres and is designed to cater entirely to Tynor's raw material requirements, significantly reducing reliance on Chinese imports. The new unit is expected to generate 1,000 jobs as part of the company's broader expansion plan to grow its workforce from 2,500 to 5,000. The plant was inaugurated by Punjab Industries, IT and Labour Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond, who also highlighted recent reforms to accelerate industrial approvals in the state.
Tynor Orthotics, a prominent manufacturer of orthopaedic support products, has expanded its operations with the launch of Ortech Textiles, a dedicated textile manufacturing unit located in Mohali, Punjab. The facility, built at an investment of INR 300 crore, spans across six acres and will serve as a backward integration initiative to meet the company's full spectrum of raw material needs.
The inauguration was attended by Punjab's Minister for Industries, IT and Labour, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, who praised Tynor Group's investment in the region. Also present were MLA Kulwant Singh, Dr P J Singh, Managing Director of Tynor Orthotics, and A J Singh, Executive Director. Minister Sond emphasised the state's recent strides in industrial development, mentioning that over the past eight months, Punjab has undertaken major reforms to streamline business processes. One of the notable initiatives includes the launch of the Invest Punjab fast-track portal, which is now ensuring that all industrial and investment-related approvals are processed within a 45-day timeline.
Addressing the gathering, Dr P J Singh explained that the launch of Ortech Textiles marks a significant milestone in Tynor's journey toward complete self-reliance. He said the facility will eliminate the need for imported raw materials-particularly from China-enhancing quality control, cost efficiency, and supply chain resilience. This strategic move also aligns with the broader national push for indigenised manufacturing in the medical devices and orthopaedic segment.
Adding to this, Executive Director A J Singh shared that Ortech Textiles will directly create 1,000 new jobs. This hiring push is part of Tynor's larger plan to double its total workforce from 2,500 to 5,000 in the near term. The company sees this expansion not only as a business milestone but also as a way to contribute meaningfully to employment generation in Punjab's industrial sector.
With Ortech Textiles now operational, Tynor Orthotics is aiming to strengthen its supply chain capabilities, reduce foreign dependence, and position itself more competitively in both domestic and international markets.
