The Noida administration recently demolished an unauthorised farmhouse and swimming pool built on 2,000-sqm of panchayat land in Dalelpur village, valued at around INR 2.2 crore. The land has now been reclaimed for constructing a panchayat office and a polling booth. The demolition is part of a larger anti-encroachment drive across Noida, including crackdowns on illegal structures in the Yamuna floodplains and other rural zones, with authorities reclaiming nearly 10,000 sqm of notified land in earlier actions.
In a firm step against unauthorised land use, Noida's district administration brought down an illegally constructed farmhouse and swimming pool built on a 2,000 sqm parcel of panchayat land in Dalelpur village. The land had been earmarked for the construction of a panchayat office and permanent polling station. The structure, allegedly built by Neeraj Tyagi, was demolished after officials issued multiple warnings earlier in the week.
Despite minor resistance during the demolition, authorities swiftly acted to reclaim the land, which is estimated to be worth around INR 2.2 crore. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Charul Yadav stated that the action followed a detailed survey carried out jointly by the tehsil and revenue departments. The recovered plot is now expected to ease the burden on villagers, who previously had to travel long distances to cast their votes.
This isn't an isolated incident. The action in Dalelpur is part of a broader crackdown across Noida, especially targeting illegal constructions on panchayat lands and Yamuna floodplains. Just a few weeks ago, the administration launched an enforcement drive across five villages, identifying and mapping encroachments on notified land. As part of that operation, officials reclaimed around 10,000 sqm of land valued at INR 30 crore.
In another related effort in Jewar's Rabupura area, nearly 40 unauthorised houses were demolished to restore natural drainage and reduce waterlogging risks, a frequent issue during monsoons. Authorities have indicated that FIRs will follow in these cases to deter further encroachments.
The trend reflects a growing administrative commitment towards restoring public land, ensuring lawful land usage, and improving civic infrastructure across rural and peri-urban areas of Noida.
